It looks like a lot of game franchises, specifically ones that have been around for a couple decades now, are going back to their roots and improving upon them. Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat. And then there's also the return of older series we haven't seen in a while, whose gameplay is relatively unchanged (Marvel vs. Capcom 3.)
Why do you guys think this is and what do you think about it?
I personally really look forward to most of these titles. Most of you know that I'm a fairly oldschool gamer, and I can really appreciate the blend of old influences with new technology and ideas. Except Sonic 4. Sonic Colors looks good though.
