Lufael was born as the only child of a poor family of Harpies whom lived in the alleys of Terramein, a moderately sized city in Gallahan. When she was four, she and her parents found refuge in the home of an elderly man. When it came time for them to leave, the kindly old man offered to care for their daughter. Though Lufael's parents loved her dearly, they knew that they could not properly raise her.
The man was named Georhell, and though he raised Lufael as a daughter, she never came to call him "father." Georhell was a powerful military figure, a former Gallahan Knight. Lufael was enamored by his tales of victory and battle, and he taught her the way of the blade. She was a skilled warrior, despite her obvious faults with human weaponry.
Terramein fell under attack by a large group of roving bandits, and much of the city's middle-class district was annihlated. Against her adoptive father's wishes, Lufael entered battle and in an act that granted her honorary knighthood, she lead the soldiers that would drive back the invading forces. Unfortunately, Georhell was lost in the massacre. Lufael mourned for months, turning her back to the world and becoming a recluse in the remnants of her home.
Eventually she fell in love with a man named Yuen. Yuen, a young knight, relished in the love she gave to him, but he felt no reason to be devoted to a "filthy crow." After her heart had broken, Lufael considered killing both Yuen and herself. Instead she turned to the rising sun, and on the horizon saw a flock of birds united and heading East. The next morning she set off on a journey to find her birth parents...
Appearance:
Lufael's feathers are varieties of golden-brown, most of them ending in white tips. Her hair is long, and dark which compliments her tan complexion. She often chooses not to use footwear, as it restricts her talons. Her choice of upperbody wear are various forms of vests and sleeveless jackets that permit her to freely use her wings.
She is moderately at 5'7 and a fit 120 pounds, a large amount of which is muscle and determination. She wears armor made of dragon bone, which is light enough to allow her to fly, but strong enough to protect her from a large number of attacks.
Personality:
Lufael is a strongwilled young woman, with a great distaste for prejudice. She is very confident in her abilities on the battlefield, but not in her ability to relate with other beings. She is quick to anger if she feels as though she is being oppressed, and will openly challenge anybody she thinks is harassing her. She has a great deal of respect for the Knights because of her upbringing, but not so much that it clouds her ambition. She dreams of being a high ranking knight like Georhell, and also of finding her birth parents. She longs for companionship more than all else, and is extremely loyal to the friends she finds.
Weapons/Abilities:
Lufael is trained in a variety of combat styles and weaponries, as well as having modified these for use while in flight. Her talons are particularly accustomed to gripping and maneuvering weapons. She is also rather agile, and a bit of a contortionist. She is a savage combatant and though her movements are often by-the-book, she executes them with precision and speed that most cannot match.
She has no talent with long-ranged weapons, and can hardly fire a bow. She also has a fear of thunder and lightning.
