So I'm always really fond of creating ideas for games. It's something I haven't done in a while, but those of you who remember how I was this Summer know that I had a new idea every other day. I like to show these ideas to people and receive feedback, so I thought I'd share the one I came up with earlier while playing Donkey Kong 64. Enjoy.

Timber’s Adventure 46
Timber’s Adventure serves as a spiritual successor to Donkey Kong 64, as well as a direct sequel to Diddy Kong Racing. In this way it can carry on the gameplay elements presented in the former, while utilizing and reinventing the characters from the latter.
There are five main playable characters: Timber, Pipsy, Tiptup, Drumstick, and Bumper. In addition, there are many supporting characters. Taj the Genie from Diddy Kong Racing is host to a skillset shop, where players can purchase new skills for their characters. T.T. the Clock will also return as the host of a weapons shop, where he will essentially serve the role that had previously been occupied by Funky Kong.. Snide the Fox from Donkey Kong Country 64 returns in much the same role as he previous had. The Brothers Bear, who have not been seen since Donkey Kong Country 3, return in a double roll as both the guardians of each stage’s big boss battle and the hosts of a minigame shop, where players can participate in various minigames for coin prizes. In addition, Tricky the Triceratops serves as a power-up ally, and Smoky the Dragon becomes playable for specific parts of the story.
The game will draw heavily from Donkey Kong 64’s emphasis on collectible items. Coins, greatly resembling the Silver Coins of Diddy Kong Racing, will be available. These coins will be used to purchase various items and skills as the game progresses. Each character must also collect five Magic Balloons per stage. These Magic Balloons are used to access new stages from the over world. In addition, there are one hundred fruits per character per stage. These fruits are used to barter with the Brothers Bear and access the level boss. Each character has their own fruit to collect.
PLAYABLE CHARACTERS
Timber the Tiger - Timber is the game’s protagonist. He’s able to fend off Wizpig’s henchmen at the beginning of the game, and so sets out to rescue his friends. Timber has average stats, and is the only character able to scale up various surfaces. He can purchase a flare gun from T.T.. Timber is represented by the color green, and his specific fruit is the watermelon.
Pipsy the Mouse - Pipsy is rescued on the first level of the game. She is the weakest, but fastest, of the playable characters. She can shrink to fit into smaller areas that are not accessible to the other characters. She is represented by the color pink, and her fruit are a pair of cherries. She can purchase a slingshot from T.T..
Tiptup the Turtle - Tiptup is the most efficient swimmer of the team, though he is only slightly tougher than Pipsy. He is the second rescued ally, and is able to swim in stronger currents than the other characters. He is also able to dive to a deeper depth, and can walk on the bottom of lakebeds. Tiptup can duck into his shell to defend or attack foes. Despite his small size, Tiptup is given a rather large rocket launcher from T.T.. He is represented by the color orange, and must collect the fruit of the same name.
Drumstick the Rooster - Drumstick is the fourth character rescued during the course of the game. He can fly short distances, which allows him to cross gaps that are otherwise to distant for other characters. T.T. gives him a crossbow. The rooster is represented by the color red and must collect apples.
Bumper the Badger - Bumper is the strongest of the playable characters and can pick up boulders with ease. He can also knock down some walls that the other players are not strong enough to demolish. Bumper is armed with a pair of handguns. His color is black, and he must collect bunches of blackberries.
Tricky the Triceratops - While Tricky is not a typical playable character, players can ride atop his back by finding special “Tricky Barrels” throughout the stages. Tricky is able to rush through enemies without taking damage, unless he is in the water, and knock down obstacles and walls.
Smoky the Dragon - Like Tricky, Smoky is not a regularly playable character. However, various mission stages will feature the player character riding atop Smoky’s back as he assaults one of Wizpig’s fortress or attempts to deliver the player character to a new location. Smoky and Tricky join Timber’s quest, grateful that he released them from Wizpig’s spell during the previous adventure.
Tricky and Smoky are both seen at the end of Diddy Kong Racing, partying with the player characters.
