Well, I was about to head off to bed and maybe some more Lyoko when this happened to catch my attention:

Now this is interesting, especially considering the Layton/Phoenix Wright crossover currently in deep production. With how closely the Layton series is associated with Nintendo, it's no surprise that Capcom has been in discussions with the Big N. I personally can't wait to see if something comes out of it, and now that it's been publicly stated and addressed, there must be future word. I can't imagine either giant being able to escape questions about this new proposal.
At Nintendo of Europe's 3DS press event yesterday, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono was asked the following question.
"Considering you are trying to make Street Fighter IV 3DS accessible to a wider audience, did you ever think about including Nintendo characters to broaden the appeal?"
To the surprise of many, Ono actually said that he would love to be involved with a Nintendo x Capcom fighting game. He even went so far as to suggest that the idea be brought to the attention of Sakurai!
