While that isn't the film I wanted to talk about, and while it is a rather disturbing short film, it is also a very well made and artistic piece. I appreciate this film and its creators, even though I'll admit that I shed more than one tear to its ending.
Now, what I wanted to talk about, was this:
This is Yogi Bear, probably the most original thing that Hanna-Barbera ever made during their time as an independent company that they did not later ripoff or spinoff. And I'll admit, I freakin' love Yogi as a character. Now, we've had this influx of Cartoon to 3D Live Action films ever since Garfield came up with the idea and Scooby-Doo (the first one, not the shitty second one) perfected it. Of course, Alvin and the Chipmunks has somehow been wildly successful, and the Smurfs are soon going to be smufing the big screen, but before them we have Yogi.
And Yogi looks good. I mean, yeah, it's going to be a little bit cheesy, a little bit out there, a little bad, but I think it might be worth watching in the end. It seems like this might be the first 3D Cartoon Live Action to get it right since Scooby-Doo, and I personally hope that it isn't as terrible as I initially thought it might be.
